BEHAVIORAL INTERVIEWER TRAINING AND COACHING
Interviewer Training (2 Days)
- Introducing basic principles of personality theory and providing an understanding of the particular traits and characteristics found to distinguish high performers at your organization.
- Introducing behavioral interviews and their appropriate use to hiring managers and key staff involved in hiring.
- Introducing and practicing behavioral interviewing techniques through individual and group activities designed to sharpen interviewers’ skills, fine-tune their ability to make sound hiring decisions and standardize their use of the selection tools.
Interviewer Coaching (3 months immediately following training)
- Reinforcing skills and concepts learned during training (i.e. asking probing questions, scoring candidates’ answers).
- Modeling interviewing techniques for interviewer(s).
- Providing feedback following observations of one practice and three actual interviews conducted by interviewers-in-training during the course of the hiring cycle.
Interviewers-in-training will observe an interview conducted by an experienced interviewer and conduct an interview alongside an experienced interviewer prior to conducting an actual interview on their own. Interviewers will then record three actual interviews (with interviewee’s consent, via conference call recording) during the course of the hiring cycle. Business Impact will review each recorded interview to note trainees’ proficiency level on skills such as probing, note taking, management of interview time, and scoring. This will allow Business Impact to provide customized guidance for improvement to each interviewer during the coaching session.
Business Impact will remain available for consultation/inquiries via phone or e-mail after the coaching session.
Interviewers-in-training will obtain certification upon successful completion of training, coaching series and observed interviews.
